Artwalk! Plant based candle making

Published emily - Fri, 08/24/2018 - 2:50pm

Come out for this August ArtWalk for an interactive Plant-based candle-making experience from 7 PM to 10 PM.

Making your own candles is fun, easy, and much cheaper than buying from a store. Most store-bought candles are made from paraffin wax, a by-product of the petroleum industry. Many candles are also made or cut with tallow, a type of animal fat, and since companies aren’t required to list the ingredients in their candles, it can be hard or impossible to find out if candles are cruelty-free.

In this short hands-on demonstration, visitors will learn how to make their own candles using a 100% pure soy wax blend. Participants can take home their own candle while supplies last.

This event is free for all ages. Donations are always appreciated.
