Join Wild Iris' D.I.Y Menstrual Pad Workshop

Come join Wild Iris in rebelling against the tampon and pad industries and saving the environment! On July 9th between 3:00-6:00pm, we will be hosting a workshop on making your own reusable menstrual pads!

The tampon and pad industry brings in over $15 billion a year and the average period yielding person disposes of over 300 lbs of menstrual products throughout their lives. In making our own reusable pads we are able to provide for ourselves and stop giving money to an industry that overcharges for their products, has a luxury tax (really??), and has limited concern for the wellbeing of people’s bodies. Tampons are full of chemicals that have the potential to do some serious damage to our health. On top of all this, tampons and pads can take over 25 years to biodegrade and are all-around terrible for the environment.

So come out and join us in making some sustainable and budget friendly pads! You will be able to pick your own fabric pattern and we will provide all of the supplies (you can also bring your own supplies if you want!). To cover the cost of supplies we are asking for a $5-$10 donation if you are able to do so. Can’t wait to see you there!
