Celebrating the Labour and Lives of Trans* Women

Published kenziecooke - Thu, 03/12/2015 - 2:47pm

What:
It is with unbridled joy that we announce our intention to host Gainesville’s first Transfeminine Appreciation Event at the South Main Arts courtyard.

Why:
This is a gathering to celebrate the tremendous work which trans women and extrabinary transfeminine identified people have done for our many communities in the past and the work which our trans sisters/ CAMAB siblings continue to do every day.

We celebrate the lives of these trans women and extrabinary transfeminine identified people, recognize the strength and determination required to navigate the transmisogyny which is casually ingrained into our culture, and commit to work toward their liberation.

This will be a Barbecue Potluck, featuring maduros, baby-back ribs, and more!

Who:
Do you identify as a transfeminine person?
Come let us celebrate your joys and share in your struggles?

Are you a cisgender or CAFAB person?
Come celebrate transfeminine people with us! If you can, bring food or contributions to Wild Iris’s free store.

Come ready to offer support and have a great time.
