Feminist Open Mic and Living History present: "Turning Points"

Published Robbie - Tue, 10/29/2013 - 1:42pm

Wild Iris, UF LGBT Affairs and the Civic Media Center are hosting this month's Feminist Open Mic Night as part of Living History. Living History is a recurring program by LGBT Affairs that focuses on storytelling and oral tradition.

This month's event is centered around the theme "Turning Points" and will give speakers a chance to reflect upon how their experiences shaped their identities. We will have a series of speakers (student and community members) that will be sharing spoken word pieces, stories and songs with us all. Additionally, guests can sign up to speak or perform with us on the night of the event.

Join us for a fun and entertaining evening filled with empowerment, solidarity and sharing. Make sure to get there at 7:00 if interested in performing. The event will start at 7:30.

Free pizza will be served.

Free HIV testing starting at 6:30pm.
