Nancy Jones is an occupier, a mom, a fully employed worker, an engineer and a poet. Her daughter, Mary Jones, is a soccer player, snow boarder, scholar, writer and burgeoning activist. Mary is especially interested in Middle East culture and last summer she worked hard with a group of about 50 people of all ages and persuasions to rebuild a house in the West bank of Israel for a Palestinian family whose home had been bulldozed by the Israeli government. Mary is now in Oman experiencing Ramadan first-hand and studying Arabic for a month before she returns to the states for her Junior year at Colorado College.

Nancy and Mary celebrated Nancy’s 50th birthday in Turkey. They had not seen each other in two years and they had a BLAST together. Nancy came home with lotsa pictures and stories to share about Istanbul and about Dedetepe (the organic olive farm she and Mary worked on for a week).
