Humanist Society of Gainesville presents "Religulous" and a Potluck

Published Robbie - Mon, 07/29/2013 - 1:43pm

Bill Maher travels around the globe interviewing people about God and religion.  Those interviewed include Muslims, Jews and Christians of many kinds, a Creationist Museum, which shows that dinosaurs and people lived at the same time, truckers at a Truckers' Chapel. He goes to a theme park called Holy Land in Florida. He speaks to a rabbi in league with Holocaust deniers and a Muslim musician who preaches hatred of Jews.
Known for his astute analytical skills, irreverent wit and commitment to never pulling a punch, Maher brings his characteristic honesty to an unusual spiritual journey.

Runtime: 101 minutes

Attendees are strongly encouraged to bring a dish or drink to share for the potluck.

The Humanist Society of Gainesville is a group composed of secular humanists, Atheists, rationalists, and freethinkers. They host social activities for their members as well as fight for the rights of the non-religious. (www.gainesvillehumanists.org)
