Project Downtown Presents: "Civil Indigent"

Published Jimmy - Mon, 11/07/2011 - 9:33pm

Civil Indigent follows the story of Gainesville resident Pat Fitzpatrick and his campaign against the meal limits placed on feeding the hungry and homeless. The meal limit, set at 130, is still in effect and Pat Fitzpatrick continues to campaign against it, calling the limit a violation of basic human rights.

Civil Indigent was one of the last films produced by students at the University of Florida’s Documentary Institute before its move to Wake Forest University.

Project Downtown is a local organization that shares free food with the homeless and hungry in downtown Gainesville. They are holding this screening to help raise awareness in the community of the issues they work to address.
