A Holiday Tradition: Monty Python's "Life of Brian"

The Civic Media Center will screen the film “Monty Python's Life of Brian” on Monday, December 20th at 7pm. The film screening will be preceded by a holiday-themed reception starting at 6pm w/ refreshments provided by the CMC's Fundraising Committee.

This irreverent satire of Biblical films and religious intolerance focuses on Brian, a Jew in Roman-occupied Judea. Brian is born in a stable on Christmas, right next to You Know Who. After joining up with an anti-Roman political organization, Brian is mistaken for a prophet, and becomes a reluctant Messiah. This film is not about Jesus—it is about those who didn't have the time or interest to listen to his message.
