CMC 17th Anniversary Celebration and Alachua Conservation Trust OktoberFest Party

Published Jimmy - Wed, 10/06/2010 - 10:56pm

Please join the CMC and the Alachua Conservation Trust (ACT) for an Oktoberfest celebration and 17th "birthday" party for the CMC on Saturday, October 16th from 3-10pm. This event will celebrate the CMC's 17th year as a community resource in Gainesville. A donation of $10 to $15 is requested; there will be food, drinks, music, and the beautiful scenery of 1100 protected acres. Festivities, including the traditional beer and brats, music, and more (non-alcoholic and veggie options too!) will be held in the ACT's beautiful Prairie Creek Lodge, located in the Prairie Creek Preserve, 7204 SE County Road 234. Admission is $10-15 sliding scale, and donations benefit both CMC and ACT. Live music will be provided by the ACT's own Robert "Hutch" Hutchinson and his band, Weeds of Eden, from 5-7pm.

Come celebrate with us and support the Civic Media Center and Alachua Conservation Trust. These two organizations working together is a great match. Both are involved in the acquisition of, preservation of, and making publicly available valuable resources--the CMC with knowledge and information, the ACT with land, wildlife habitat, and environmental education. Please come to the Oktoberfest Saturday, October 16th, but if you can't, please consider making an online donation to either group (or both!).
