It proved essential in demonstrating against the Vietnam war and is back up and running, after a decade hiatus, in response to the war in Iraq. Join if you believe this war is continuing to take lives on the basis of, well, basically there is no basis. Let’s do something at UF

Presentation and Discussion on Venezuela

On Thursday April 17th there will be a presentation and discussion on Venezuela. Participating will be Gainesville Iguana editors Jenny Brown and Joe Courter, who have just returned from a peace delegation which visited  4 cities,  and  musician/ activist Dave Lippman, , who spent time in Venezuela last year.  A thriving progressive democracy, Venezuela is often misrepresented in US media sources.  What is really going on there, and how do the people there feel about it?  The event will be from 7:30 to 9:30 pm Thurs April 17th

Fighting Against the Marriage Protection Amendment

Come to the CMC on Wednesday, March 19th, 2008 for an in-depth presentation on the Florida Marriage Protection Amendment and the harm it posses to Florida families as well as information about Fairness for ALL Families (FFAF) and our campaign. Following the presentation, we will have a workshop  and  discussion will include ways to mobilize ourselves as volunteers and how to successful reach out to the UF and Gainesville community

Bridges Across Borders Meeting

This group gets students engaged with the work of Bridges Across Borders, a Gainesville-area based international nonprofit that works on Fair Trade, human rights, ecology and service projects in Latin America and SE Asia. Meetings are every other Wednesday. All UF students are invited!
