The weekend of March 17, 2007, anti-war marches took place in different locations throughout the country, including Washington D.C. , North Carolina, and here in Gainesville, FL. The Civic Media Center will host a report from those Marches will different peace groups reporting back on the demonstrations. The Marches, held in protest of the Iraq war, hoped to bring greater attention to the issues of colonial occupation in Palestine and Haiti, Guantanamo, and the needs of the people from Iraq to New Orleans. The report gives those who were unable to attend a chance to experience and learn from the events that took place. Anyone who participated in some form of action is welcome to attend and report. We invite anyone interested in
learning about the marches to attend.
